Innovation in the construction sector is one of the three pillars included in the EIBG Action plan for affordable and sustainable housing, as well as an important focus of the EC Housing Task Force.  It offers the potential to boost the supply of affordable and sustainable housing to match current demand, as well as promoting the competitiveness of European industry.

The EIB Group Housing Roadshow promoting the Action Plan for Affordable and Sustainable Housing with its strong innovation focus, can contribute to development of such pipeline. Therefore, the Barcelona Workshop, launching the roadshow, will focus on how we can break down the barriers for innovation in construction and build stronger bridges between the different stakeholders of the housing construction value chain, from RDI actors to construction companies to housing providers to cities. It will address the question of how enhanced collaboration can help increase the implementation of innovation in the sector.
