The EU Building Stock Observatory (BSO) has undergone its most substantial upgrade since its inception in 2016, with the new version launched last month by the Commission. It offers an improved user interface and better data availability.

With this update, the BSO, as an open-source web platform on the energy performance of buildings in the EU, has the potential to become the central data hub for Europe’s building stock.

The main improvements include an increased dataset with additional indicators and a higher level of detail and a new user interface that offers advanced user experience. Thanks to these changes, users can also customise data visualisations and compare different sets of data, making more combinations between available indicators possible.
