NTNU strengthens Synergies with ECTP through Study Visit in Brussels

The NTNU Forum on Building and Construction, led by Professor Rolf André Bohne, carried out a study visit to Brussels last week, hosted by the NTNU Brussels Office. The initiative focused on exploring the latest European trends within the building and construction sector, while reinforcing collaboration with key stakeholders and strategic platforms, including ECTP, of which NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is an active member.

The Forum, structured around six thematic subgroups aligned with ECTP’s Thematic Committees, engaged in insightful discussions on European research and innovation priorities, digitalisation, sustainability, and future funding opportunities. The visit also represented an important step towards strengthening the connection between NTNU’s activities and ECTP’s working Committees, paving the way for new joint initiatives in the years ahead.

ECTP welcomes this proactive engagement from NTNU and values the effort to deepen synergies between both organisations. Strengthened cooperation between academia, industry and European platforms is essential to accelerate innovation and deliver meaningful impact across the built environment sector.

As the construction ecosystem continues to evolve, partnerships of this kind will be instrumental in shaping a more sustainable, digital and resilient future for Europe. ECTP looks forward to further collaboration and the next steps with NTNU and its Forum.
