The Commission has published new rules (C/2025/8723) under the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive outlining a common approach to calculating the life-cycle Global Warming Potential (GWP) of new buildings.

The methodology ensures comparable GWP assessments across Member States, covering emissions from construction, use, maintenance and end-of-life stages.
