The overall goal of the event is: "Editing a broad BBRI vision paper on the short, middle and long term evolutions of CITY & BUILDINGS TRANSFORMATION of the construction industry".

Given the Corona virus problem, the Belgian Building Research Institute (BBRI) was forced to cancel its vision event "Imagining the Future of Construction" that was initially scheduled for March. However, the 3 sessions are currently organized completely digitally!

The first session “Digital Construction” took place on June 11 and June 18. The keynote, the work session and the aftermovie can be viewed again at https://visie.wtcb.be.
The “Circularity & Changing Business Models” session will take place later this year.

The session “City & Buildings Transformation”, with topics such as high-rise buildings and top-ups, green buildings and cities, smart cities, mobility and mobility impact of remote homes, climate change and resilient buildings... will take place on the following dates:

• 17 September 2020 – 17:00: Webinar with Luk Peeters (ORG Permanent Modernity)
Luk Peeters is co-founder of ORG Permanent Modernity, a multidisciplinary design agency for urban planning and architecture with offices in Brussels and New York. Since 2007 he has developed an office with 35 employees that has made high-profile designs at home and abroad. He heads the architecture department, which is active both in Belgium and Africa (Malawi, Kinshasa, Ghana). Luk holds a Master of Science in Architecture (KULeuven) and a Master of Urban Design and Spatial Planning (KULeuven & UGent).
Since 2000 he has extensive and international experience in designing sustainable production buildings and locations. With ORG he goes one step further by bringing production to the city and designing it within timeless, flexible structures. He designed the master plan for the Abattoir site in Anderlecht, as well as the Foodmet, an iconic market building where production (with the largest aquaponic urban roof farm in Europe), meat processing and sales come together in one building. He then carried out the research work with ORG in the highly mixed production / residential buildings currently under construction in Brussels. ORG recently presented the Broeklin site, the largest circular site in Belgium.

• 23 September 2020 – 17:00: Work session
Luk Peeters' keynote will be followed by a panel discussion and the opportunity to participate in it via a blog.
The session will consist of a live debate that will be broadcast and can be responded to.
